Sie stehen auf der Liste aller Cabernet Sauvignon- Aficionados ganz weit oben: die raren Single-Vineyard-Cabs aus Kalifornien. Der Winzer hinter den Hochgebirgsweingärten von Anakota im Knights Valley ist kein Geringerer als Pierre Seillan, der Bordelais-Guru, der die fabelhaften Weine von Vérité, vom selben Besitzer, der Familie Jackson, herstellt. Es gibt zwei Cuvées aus verschiedenen Lagen im Knights Valley, die untere Erhebung namens Helena Montana (950 Fuss) und die Helena Dakota (750 Fuss). Die Produktion dieser Boutique- Weine reicht von der kleinsten im Jahr (2013) mit jeweils etwas mehr als 500 produzierten Kisten, bis auf (2014) 700 -800 Kisten! Dies sind alles 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, die 15 Monate in 100% französischer Eiche ausgebaut werden, bevor sie in die Flasche kommen. Diese Kult-Weine sind für eine langfristige Alterung gedacht und gehören zu den langlebigsten Weinen, die im Knights Valley produziert werden!

Deep ruby, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Helena Montana Vineyard offers its cassis aromas slowly, continually unfolding to accents of lavender, cured meats, chargrill, coffee and loads of savory spices. Matured 12 months in 70% new French oak, the palate is surprisingly lifted and silky, soaring with youthful fruit and spices, focused acidity and a streak of graphite driving the long finish. 1,379 cases were made. Hélène Seillan notes that the oak is sourced from about 15 different forests in France, and its singular, spicy, integrated oak is part of what makes this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon so distinctive.
